Conclusiones

  • The leukaemic mature T-cell disorders comprise several well defined disease entities with different pathogenesis, clinical and laboratory features and outcome.
  • Cytology and immunophenotyping compounded with the information of the clinical features are the key frontline investigations in the diagnostic work-up of these diseases.
  • Molecular genetics have provided insights in their pathogenesis as well as have been shown to be relevant for risk stratification into prognostic groups.
  • All these have lead to the development of more effective treatments and improvement in survival.
